Creativity in Problem-Solving
One of my goals for my blog is to share experiences from my everyday life and how they inspire my work in web design and my business.
My business, Pack W Digital Design, is named after my real-life pack, who have been a source of support and inspiration as I honed my skills in Instructional Design and web design.
One member of my pack is our senior dog, who is starting to struggle with mobility. He sleeps on his dog bed near me so I can keep an eye on him. Multiple times during the night, he has rolled off his bed and gotten stuck, wedged between his bed and the wall. I’ve woken up to find him wiggling on his back, trying to get free and return to his bed.
Initially, I thought it was just a one-time occurrence, but when it happened again, I knew I needed to rethink the setup to prevent it from happening in the future. Eventually, I realized that by changing the position of his bed, I could eliminate the gap between the bed and the wall, preventing him from getting stuck.
This experience mirrored a common process I encounter in my business. When faced with a problem, I often try the same solutions repeatedly, hoping for a different outcome. More often than not, the results are unchanged, yet I find myself stuck in this cycle.
I’ve learned that when confronted with a challenge, it’s essential to take a step back and explore creative solutions rather than relying on familiar responses.
In reflecting on these experiences, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of adaptability and creativity. Just as I needed to adjust my senior dog’s bed to prevent him from getting stuck, I recognize that embracing new perspectives and solutions can lead to more effective outcomes in my projects.
Challenges are inevitable, but they also present opportunities for growth and innovation. By remaining open to creative problem-solving, I can continue to evolve my business and draw inspiration from everyday moments with my pack.
